thoughts revisited + Behind the Blogger Tag

I need to apologize to two movies I said I wouldn’t like: the third How to Train Your Dragon, and also Captain Marvel.

I’m an idiot sometimes; and I worry for no reason. It’s okay. That’s part of being human. I feel like I should be upset that I was wrong, or happy, maybe… but it just is. I think that’s okay too.

The first time I heard the song Lovers in a Dangerous Time, I hated it. Now I think it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever.

Human brains are constantly growing. So, of course my mind would change.

Sometimes revisiting thoughts and declaring them to be currently inaccurate is a good thing.

I still will say: no partingwaysforever stories for me right now, thanks. and also, yes, we need more stories that are like, “it’s okay to be the smol bean, the marshmallow, because we need those too.” But there were other aspects of the stories that I liked, and I might go more in-depth on that later…

Becky nominated me for the Behind the Blogger Tag, so I’m going to do that.

  • Thank the person who nominated you (Becky! Thank you!)
  • answer the questions
  • link to the tag creator
  • nominate… I personally cannot nominate people for anything to save my life, so this is another time I’m saying, darlings, if you want to do this tag, you have my blessing. If you do it, comment a link and I’ll go read it. ❤
  1. Why did you start blogging and why have you kept blogging?

When I was younger I blogged all the time, under a pen name. I loved it, but I didn’t have anything to say, not really, so I tried to say what others said and seemed to want to hear. It was miserable. So I started back after a really, really, really long break and a lot of growing experiences, because it just felt right. I’ve kept blogging now because I’m an addict to words as an art form.

2. What is your favorite type of blog post to write?

The type where, in a sudden shock of feeling and inspiration, my fingers type with a mind of their own. It feels like tears, like warm, salty raindrops slowly falling to the ground. There’s a sort of mental clarity with an experience like that… that you just can’t explain.

3. What are your top three favorite blog posts?

Clock and More Never-Ending and Neck Brace Lady

I feel like these sum up my blog. It’s kind of a panicked-yet-calm-yet-giggling-hysterically-over-nothing kind of blog.

4. What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?

I’m never relaxed. Except this one time in a dentist’s office where they played Barenaked Ladies and made nerdy jokes most of the time. Wait, no–I wasn’t really relaxed then, either. There’s kind of this constant energy that makes me always a little on edge, always thinking, always moving, so… I think I can honestly say I’m never relaxed. Even when I sleep, I move around and I dream crazy things and I wake up repeatedly. I do have some things that I do when I’m getting overstimulated, to help me be a bit more chill. Like, listening to music (BNL? Steven Page? Blues Traveler, anyone?). Swinging on the swing set (never too old). Showers are good (it’s raining! But in the house! And with temperature controls and bubbles! It’s bizarre! It’s crazy fun! I don’t think people realize that!).

5. What are three of your favorite things?

raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens–Just kidding. Although, those are good things. Right now? Right now I think three favorites would have to be:

Barenaked Ladies (i’m not obsessed, i could stop thinking about them at any time, i just… i just don’t want to, okay)

Converse (I have four pairs. Then two that my sister and I share. Then I borrow her pair. Although, she’s about to have two pairs. Which I will borrow.)

This yellow shirt I have that says chin up on it. That’s a favorite. It’s cute, and it looks like mustard, but it doesn’t smell like mustard. I don’t know if it tastes like mustard.

6. What are your proudest blogging moments?

When Clara and Ruby Sky asked if I realized that I had comments turned off, because they wanted to comment. It was a moment where I realized that I really am blonde, a moment where I realized I’d messed something up, and the first moment when I realized that people were actually reading this stuff.

Another moment was when my story One, Two got special mention in a contest. I actually went back and watched the YouTube announcement, and my special mention is actually considered the Wisdom Award. That makes me feel really old, and maybe a bit like that turtle friend I made. Except not as grumpy. So not like that turtle friend, actually, I feel more like a baby sea turtle. Wait, that revokes the statement that I feel old. Wait–never mind. Anyways.

7. What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

Well since the blog covers photography, noveling, and messed-up poetry, um. Oh, look at that, I called the stuff… I said… I said photography and noveling. Guys. Guysguysguys. I just had one of those ADHD-sudden-brain-maturing moments. That happens sometimes. Mostly in the summer. In the shower. Not always in the shower, of course. Showers are fun. I said that already.

Anyways. I don’t really know what to say? I mean, everything I pursue, I blog about, I think. I don’t play sports, or collect stamps, or play instruments or anything like that. So…

Oh! Sometimes, I take straw wrappers from fast-food restaurants and I tie them around my wrists to make little trashy bracelets.

8. Describe your personality in three words.

Emotional, goofy, bizarre.

(Did that cover it, you guys?)

9. What are your top three pet peeves?

Oh, dear. Um. See, I don’t really have those? Or, if I do, I assume it’s a problem with me and I get over it. I don’t really… Yeah, no. Is that a bad thing? I could probably develop some right quick.

10. What’s something your followers don’t know about you?

I already told them about my superpower (eating straight mayonnaise), so I’m really not sure how to top that.

I have shirt with red and white stripes. It has a navy blue collar. Makes me think simultaneously of Pepsi and of the Barenaked Ladies album Gordon.

Made at FreeGifMaker.me

I had to make this gif myself. It took me 45 whole seconds.

Alrighty, well, if anyone would like to do this, you can (I… I do know how to follow rules, theoretically, it’s just…) and please comment below with a link if you do. You can comment below with a link if you don’t, too, of course. Just… what will you link to?

  1. Yay you did the tag! I loved reading your answers!

I would somehow always manage to convince myself I wouldn’t like a movie before I saw it when I was younger. XD I think I’d try to give myself low expectations so it couldn’t break them (a few did anyway, wow), and I’d also get really, really worried about whether the people watching it with me would get disappointed with the movie. I don’t even know why. But anyway, that’s great that you were pleasantly surprised! (I’ll admit to being a bit nervous about the How to Train Your Dragon movie, too. I haven’t managed to see it yet, but hopefully I will soon rather than procrastinating like I do with every other movie!)

    • Aw, thanks!

Oh, man, that’s me exactly. And I recommend the movie. It’s pretty cute. But I get procrastinating too 🤷🏼‍♀️😉

  2. *chokes* Captain.. Marvel… AY.
Ahem how on earth does one eat straight mayo please explain that’s just a whole new level of meta how
also this post was great *grins*

    • Captain Marvel is cool. I’m semi-mad at my past self for being like “noooooo I can’t like captain marvellllll” who my mom calls MarvelWoman.

A lot of gagging and willpower. 🙂

      And thank you, Jo!!
